2048 is a sliding-tile puzzle built around a single elegant rule: when two tiles carrying the same number touch, they merge into one tile worth double. Every arrow-key press slides all tiles on the board as far as they'll go in that direction, merging matching pairs along the way, and a new tile appears afterward. The board fills up fast, so the real skill is deciding which direction to push and when, so you don't box yourself into a corner with no legal moves left. Reaching the 2048 tile takes patience and a bit of forward planning.

How to Play

• Press an arrow key to slide every tile on the board in that direction.
• Two tiles with the same number merge into a single tile worth their sum.
• A new tile (2 or 4) appears on the board after each move.
• Keep merging tiles to build bigger numbers, aiming for the 2048 tile.
• The game is over when the board is full and no more merges are possible.

Tip: Pick one corner and try to keep your highest-value tile anchored there. Avoid moving in a direction that would break up your ordered row or column unless you have to.
