Image Watermark Tool
Stamp your own text across an image in a colour you choose, then download it.

Supports JPG, PNG, and WEBP. Your proprietary branding never leaves your local hardware.
A watermark is text drawn over your image so it stays attached wherever the picture travels. This tool lets you type your own phrase, pick its colour, and burn it onto the image on a canvas in the browser. It is a quick way to label proofs, mark drafts, or add a handle before you share a photo — and because it runs locally, the picture is never uploaded.
Choosing text and colour that actually reads
The two things that make or break a watermark are contrast and subtlety. Pick a colour that stands apart from the image underneath — light text vanishes on a bright sky, dark text disappears in shadows. A semi-transparent white or grey is the usual compromise because it stays legible over both light and dark areas without dominating the picture. Keep the text itself short: a name, a domain, or “DRAFT” reads at a glance; a long sentence just becomes clutter.
What a watermark does and does not protect
A watermark deters casual copying and makes it clear who owns or made an image, which is often all you need for social posts and client proofs. It is not hard theft-proofing, though — a determined person can crop a corner mark off or paint it out. For real protection, spread the mark across the centre of the image where it cannot be cropped away, and keep your original clean copy safe. The watermark is burned into the exported pixels and cannot be toggled off later, so always export a copy.
Frequently Asked Questions
What colour should the watermark be?
One that contrasts with the image beneath it. Semi-transparent white or grey is the safest all-rounder because it stays readable over both light and dark areas.
Can the watermark be removed later?
Not from the exported file — it is burned into the pixels. A corner mark can be cropped off by others, so place it centrally if you want it hard to remove, and keep your unmarked original.
Does a watermark stop people copying my image?
It deters casual reuse and shows ownership, but it is not foolproof. Someone can crop or paint over it, so treat it as a deterrent rather than true protection.
Is my image uploaded?
No. The text is drawn onto the image on a canvas in your browser, entirely on your device.
